Beautiful ballade!

I was skeptical when you started to distress it with the screws and thought oh my this might not look so great but you totally pulled it off. It really looks really cool and easing that edge really was a great idea and it looks awesome. Definitely one cool and great sounding guitar. If you did use the strings that came with it means once you put some good ones on it will sound even better. Great Job Michael and glad I some how ran across your channel and I’m excited to buy a kit for my grand daughter and I to put together. She’s learning and taking lessons from a teacher that has her reading and playing notes and not just cords by memory and he has been teaching over 50 years and is thrilled how well she is doing. She is very smart and catches on really fast.

Very nice and when they chrome they polish the part then clean it then apply copper then nickel then the chrome which I understand is clear and makes the nickel shinny.

looking at photos of real telecasters the 3 way switch should be on the neck side not the bridge side!!!!!! check for yourself....

Well, I bought one. I liked it at first, however after a week of playing the speaker started crackling so bad that I couldn't use it anymore. Not worth the 30 bucks.

Really like the raw natural wood look. You scored the body but did you fill in the scores with some black paint or something else? - Great looking Tele. Sounded great on low open chords - very southern rock or ballsy country to my UK ears! Nice looking natural Tele - the way I like 'em. Thanks.

You lost me at gluing the neck. Why not use a solid piece of wood and screw it down like it's supposed to be? How are you supposed to get the break angle perfect if you can never take the neck off or adjust it?

GREAT job!!! Looks and sounds beautiful. I'm looking to do the same thing just not sure which BYO company to get it from. I believe Stew Mac has the Wilkinson DIY's. Pricey, but nice. Definitely a Tele style.

I think it sounded best with the Strat. Some bands tuned their guitars down a tone or two ; for example Black Sabbath. I wonder if this pedal would make it possible to get the same sound without having to tune strings down from low E to C#.

I bought one & within one hour I returned it to Amazon . The feed back was unstoppable! Tried it on three different guitars and the high pitch feedback was so audible it just didn’t work out for me . Wish it had

I like how it turned out, looks and sounds good… I have built a couple of partscasters and a cigar box guitar from scratch. I just finished a modified tele body guitar that turned out real nice but like you I had to do the paint twice cause the first go had blemishes and what not. Take care…

I just bought an Olympic white Squier Telecaster..switched to a black pickguard and one of those Dimarzio humbuckers into the neck position, trying to get rid of a little noise. I like it a lot..I made it play a lot better by lowering the action. And like you, with three bens just a few feet away, Bgock!! This is my first ever Tele, and after 60 years of pickin' it's about time!

Nice presentation. Having made several diverse stringed and other sound makers; each found needs for tweaking. As to the hold down, I have used multiple small screws; but being cautious about drilling a metal rod, i would choose two eye screws and pass the rod through them. They would sit about where you placed the holes, or to the outsides of the string. I prefer individual hold downs so each string is easy to change. I love using magnetic pickups, especially with a piezo pickup as well. CB Gitty has a 1/4" thick mag PU that works well for shallow locations. Add a volume pot for each works best as does tone control, but one can get away with none or fewer pots; or a blend pot. The mag(s) tend to do the main work and the piezo adds natural ambience (and hysteria) as needed... cardboard cigar boxes lack some tone and volume. Also, I prefer to leave space between the neck and soundboard (as you have(?)) to get reasonable chance of sound with no amp. I enjoy your sharing. Really glad to see the insides.

Just a lil fyi, when u string up the guitar n tune it to pitch, loosen the 4 neck screws and the strings will pull the neck into the neck pocket, and set it deeper, it, gives the neck a solid joint w/ the body!

Sounds pretty great, Michael! Especially at that price! btw when you're on the Detune setting, those numbers don't really mean anything - the detune is measured in cents. There's a chart in the manual 🙂

Interesting thing about the fender telecaster you have. Did you buy it new with the control plate reversed? Factory shipped the switch is at the front. Nice job on the kit. Is it a solo brand?
